1 month of Entria tech
how I developed considerably in 1 month ⚡
Beginning of everything:
Well on March 29th I was in my first day coding for real at Entria The Tech Team, after a lot of calls and pair programming to adapt myself to codebase, in the beginning everything was very confusing and hard for me since I was coming from an internship where I learned few things and the technologies were not very good, BUT all these problems were/are being solved because of the great team that works at Entria, I leave here my thanks to everyone.
Thanks Afonso Araújo (Streeterxs), Danilo Assis, Sibelius Seraphini, @rafaturk
One important thing that they always encouraged me to do there is to always ask for help if I get stuck on a bug or problem, I have the freedom to ask for pair programming with anyone there, and this was extremely important for my learning, in the beginning I was very slow to ask for help (I wasn’t used to it in the past job) but nowadays I try my best to exercise this and also the Learning Public methodology.
My first issues:
The first issues passed to me was to update the doc for Entria developers it gets outdated with every modification or creation of new scripts in the codebase, this is on purpose so that new devs arriving can update them, it was cool because I learned the basic commands and how to run the basic system both front and back of Entria. The second issue was the translation to pt-BR of the OpenPix Developers doc made with Docusaurus, product that we have in Entria, it was a lot of work, I took a little time in this issue but I could learn better how this product works and that in the future I would work on it.
The issues I’m trying now are more of refactoring like: refactoring HOC components to React hooks, I also learned how to create tests from the basic like simply render the component, to the more complex where it tests all the component logic and more recently I’m learning how to test if a component mutation in GrapQL is being called.
I’m extremely grateful for having met Sibelius Seraphini and Entria The Tech Team for giving me an opportunity and seeing potential in me, it’s crazy to see that 1 month ago I didn’t even know how to use Git right and didn’t even know how React hook’s worked and today I can already understand the basics of GraphQL and Relay. Finally I leave a phrase that I heard from the wise Sibelius and that I wrote even on Twitter:
You can only really have a significant advance leaving your comfort zone and being in the right place, where people prioritize your advancement and learning. 🎯🚀
